2016 Wedding Recap
To everyone who stepped in front of my camera this year, thank you. For me, you’ve reaffirmed what is most important in life; trust, letting your guard down, being authentic. I’ve been welcomed in to your most intimate moments and you’ve left a mark on my heart with your magnitude of love and kindness. 2016 has been a year of transition, beautiful and chaotic, poignant and liberating. Filled with weddings that were organic, intimate and emotional. Couples who wore their heart on their sleeves, who embraced the rain, and their own spontaneity.
Miles and Miles of road travelled, with another year full of stories unfolding in front of my lens. There have been tornado warnings and thunder storms, weekends my travels took me so far there was barely time to sleep. The list of cities is lengthy and my Spotify playlist even more-so; Picton, Windsor, North Bay, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Port Burwell, and that seems to just scratch the surface.
This year has been filled with new love, happiness and a realization of my own resilience. I’ve found my tribe. People to help me achieve my version of happiness. My beautiful daughter who has grown up more than I could imagine, and partner to truly this share life with. I’ve realized that falling in love myself is only half as beautiful as watching her love and that sometimes the best thing you can do is embrace life’s messiness.
I’ve never been one to have a list of New Year’s resolutions because honestly, when you figure out what you want in life you should just chase the shit out of it. No excuses.
