Boiler House Loft Wedding
From the Bride:
“My favorite part of the day was walking down aisle with my son, spending the day with my daughters getting ready and then sharing the day with all of the people that were overcome with joy and love that Jim and I had met each other and were there that day to commit the rest of our lives to each other. It goes without saying that having chosen you to capture all the photos the day of our wedding was perhaps the single best decision I made! You made the day so perfect and you made Jim and I, as well as our guests, completely relaxed and happy to have our photos taken. For Jim that is a major compliment to you. He really would prefer to do anything other than that. Also having you take our pictures for an engagement session and then getting the book made for our guests to sign at the wedding was brilliant! The other vendor that I loved was James Gizzie ~ The music he played literally had our guests in tears. I loved his music so much I hired him to record several of the songs that he played at our wedding and I gave Jim and ipod with the playlist to play in the music station at our new house together for his birthday. We listen to it all the time.
Jim and I were so proud to have our children as our bridesmaids and groomsmen. And yes, that is my son walking me down the aisle to Jim at the Arta Gallery. The bridesmaid are my daughter Lauren and Step daughter Alyssa. All of our children by our sides. Our wedding was filled with love and emotion. When I stepped out from behind the wall at the Arta Gallery and joined my son the tears of joy from all our guests started and continued through the ceremony and our vows, at which point even I could heard the crying as I read my vows to Jim ( which was the trigger for me to start crying as well). Jim ‘s and my journey to find one another is remarkable. We both put our children ahead of ourselves and in the end the reward for that was each other.
Jim wrote an “About Us” on our wedding web site ~ it really says it all about us: Welcome family and friends! As you know by now, we are celebrating our wedding June 30th 2016, and are looking forward to sharing this special day with the people that we love and care about. The last four years has been an amazing and incredible journey for us, and in some ways we feel it’s just beginning as we are finally geographically together in our new house in Paris Ontario. Each of us spent many years as single parents, dedicated to raising our children who are now incredible young adults, while also focused on busy careers. Despite being completely committed to our children with little expectation of starting a relationship, we somehow found each other one cold and wintery day in January of 2012. From the moment we met, we both knew we had found something special, and over the past 4 years, despite the distance separating us, we have grown even stronger and more connected.
Although we are different in some ways, we have realized that we are not too old to learn from each other and we definitely compliment each others lives. It really is an incredible feeling to have an opportunity to feel this way at this stage of our lives, and we are very grateful. Of course, the one thing we have most in common, is the love and pride for our children. Our own bond has been strengthened tremendously by all four of our children, Jesse, Jack, Lauren and Ethan. The only thing we have enjoyed more than being together these past few years has been to have our kids around us, enjoying special occasions, but most of all, truly enjoying being with each other. We’ve been so grateful that they have all embraced “our family” with love and excitement for what the future holds. So, our celebration in June is not only a wedding, it is our first opportunity as an “official family” to share our gratitude and appreciation for the love and support you have all shown us during our amazing journey.”
